Coventry University provides world-class education and concentrates on applied research. The courses at the university are efficiently designed to benefit the students. The college was started back in 1843 with the Coventry College of Design but later it united with the Lanchester College of Technology and Rugby College of Engineering Technology in 1970, to form a Lanchester Polytechnic. In 1987 the name changed to Coventry Polytechnic and in 1992 the University was set up under UK Government legislation. The university has also won the TEF gold for excellent teaching and learning in the country in 2017.
The university offers many UG and PG courses, ranging from finances to engineering. It also owns a research centre as it strongly promotes applied research. The Faculties and schools under Coventry University are Arts and Humanities, Engineering, Environment and Computing, Health and Life Sciences, Coventry Business School and Coventry Law School.
